South Mountain Park Hikes

If you live in the Phoenix area, some of the best trails are in South Mountain Park. You can learn about all the trails at the City of Phoenix website. The Morman Trail leaves from the south end of 24th St and goes 1.1 miles to the top.  It is moderate to difficult and rises in elevation about 1000 feet. The Javelina Canyon Trail is 1.7 miles long and leaves from 48th St park entrance parking lot.  It is a much easier hiking trail.  For more trails and information go to the  City of Phoenix Parks - Hiking webpage.

Hiking in Phoenix

Each of us has a favorite place to hike. One of my all time favorite spots is the Morman Trail in South Mountain Park in Phoenix. It is a great hike up the mountain and a wonderful view at the top. September through May is the best time to hike it. During the summer it is a good choice early in the morning.

Each one of us has favorite places to walk. One of mine is the Morman Trail in the South Mountain Park in south Phoenix. It is easy to get there on 24th St. and south of Baseline.
