2009 Walk Across Arizona

Maricopa County has 65 teams this year with 543 walkers. Since starting February 1, they have walked more than 25,000 miles. Pima County has 92 teams with 671 walkers who have walked more than 29,000 miles in the first 3 weeks. How far have your team members walked. Walking time is here in Pima and Maricopa Counties. Walk across Arizona starts February 1 in the Phoenix and Tucson areas. WAAZ teams are signing up now to improve their health and increase their physical activity. Where are your favorite places to walk? Share your walking ideas and best walking spots!!

Award Winner

Walk Across Arizona was the 1st Place Hemmy winner presented by the Arizona Public Health Association in September 2008. The Hemmy recognizes outstanding health promotion campaigns and programs across the state. 2009 Walk Across Arizona

The 2009 Walk Across Arizona will start in Pima and Maricopa Counties on Feb 1st. Start your team now!! Kick off is Jan 21 at the UA Cooperative Extension office in Phoenix.
The 2008 Walk Across Arizona in Maricopa County 143 teams 1248 team members walked 330,000 miles over the weeks of the program. Teams are worksite and faith based, plus families and friends.
